About Me and Storytelling Photography

Our Story

“Fiadh” meaning wild.

Fiadh, the name of my daughter, already wild in the most wonderful way.

Wild, raw and honest, capturing real emotion, in  untamed places off the beaten track, of life; of mothers waiting expectingly for their new arrival, of new mothers still in the postpartum fog, of children wild and free in the forest, of families dipping their toes in the sea.

Hi, I'm Eilidh, a photographer based in the Scottish Highlands. I'm passionate about creating timeless images that reflect you and your family, specializing in motherhood, childhood, family and dog sessions, with the goal of starting elopement photography in the near future.

My sessions are relaxed and generally non-posed, as I believe in capturing the most natural moments, as real memory keepsakes. I look forward to capturing some of yours.

What is storytelling photography?

Storytelling photography, in my perspective anyway, is a way of conveying and documenting the rawness of the experience that is being photographed, whether that be the whole family laughing together, or just a small hand clutching yours. I include a whole array of photos in your gallery, from beautiful portraits, to a welly boot kicking a pile of leaves, or a tiny hand clutching whatever they have found on the forest floor. I want to tell the story of your family or your experience through photographs you can cherish forever. Some may make it to the living room wall, but it will be the small details that tell the story, that will keep you smiling for years to come.
